About

We are a family of seven that loves sailing! Well, most of do anyway. Mama has no interest in sailing so that makes it pretty difficult at times. When the whole family wants to go sailing, Papa has to do everything by himself and with the help of the rest of the kids. We all enjoy it anyway!
It would be wonderful if mama liked sailing but she is afraid that she may get seasick.
Our current boat is an Ingrid 38 that was commissioned in 1988. We sailed it down to our home port of Winchester Bay, Oregon in September 2008. It was a lot of fun! We took eight days to do the passage from Olympia, Washington to Winchester Bay, Oregon. Part of the reason that it took the amount of time that it did was that we stopped in Grays Harbor, Washington for a few days to wait out a storm that came through.
All in all, it was great! We saw a whole lot of whales and dolphins and such as that.
After we got back to Oregon, papa started tearing into the boat to rebuild it to fit our family a bit better. He says that it will never fit our family properly though because the cockpit is too small for all of us. He says that as soon as the boat is finished, we will sell it and buy a boat that fits us a bit better.
He already has his eye on one….
